Consumer Choice Award

The Consumers' Choice Award™ is an initiative of Consumers' Choice Institute which has retained a leading independent research firm to conduct surveys in major Canadian and U.S. cities. It is unique in North America as the winners are determined by consumers and not by a panel of judges. It covers a broad range of categories of interest to both the public and business communities.

Its purpose is to publicly identify those establishments that have been voted by consumers as being their choice for excellence. The Consumers' Choice Award™ is a most prestigious tribute to businesses that serve their clients well. The program is encouraged by all levels of government and by business leaders.


HISTORY

The Consumers' Choice Award ™ (CCA) was established in 1986 to identify and promote business excellence. The CCA program each year commissions a survey in which consumers are asked to identify their favorite businesses. Respondents are asked to consider criteria such as Value, Professionalism, and Service when making their choice.

Award recipients reflect a broad spectrum of business enterprises. They represent product and service providers to both the general public and the business community. While most award recipients are local businesses, many others are national and indeed, international in scope.


RESEARCH/SURVEY

In order to ensure accuracy and objectivity, the most respected names in market research are employed. Currently, in the U.S.A., the CCA commissions HarrisInteractive ®, a Harris Poll ® company to conduct its surveys.

HarrisInteractive ® utilizes a large pool of Harris Poll On-line (HPOL) respondents when conducting market research. There are 3.5 million registered HPOL respondents in the U.S., boasting the largest on-line panel in the world. Most importantly, the respondent population accurately reflects the U.S. census thereby ensuring statistical accuracy.
